Blue cod (te reo Māori: Rāwaru / Pākirikiri), Parapercis colias. Fished from the shore, from a boat and spearfishing. In October it is in season in Central, Challenger, South-East, Kaikōura Marine Area, Southland and Fiordland Marine Area.
